News and Upcoming Events

Who we are

The Kittitas Valley Unitarian Universalist Community is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association. We are located at 400 North Anderson in Ellensburg, Washington. We share our building with the Ellensburg Zen Group and The Ellensburg Society of Friends (Silent Quaker).

Caring

If you are experiencing a significant life event where you need support, the KVUUC Care Team can provide the assistance you need. We are happy to organize meal trains, rides to important appointments, help with chores, or simply offer friendship during a difficult or exciting time.

Get Involved

Our community represents a commitment by many individuals to work in partnership for the greater good. There are lots of ways to serve and give back to our community. Consider your gifts and decide where and how to use them. When you use your gifts, you will be nourished and serving will become a spiritual practice.

A welcoming community

We are brave, curious, and compassionate thinkers and doers. We are diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the good. We have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace.

We have radical roots and a history as self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and recognize that life experience influences our beliefs more than anything.

We need not think alike to love alike. We are people of many beliefs and backgrounds: people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who let the mystery be.

We are Unitarian Universalist and BuddhistChristianHinduHumanistJewishMuslimPaganatheist and agnosticbelievers in God, and more.

On the forefront of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer inclusion for more than 40 years, we are people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

We welcome you: your whole self, with all your truths and your doubts, your worries and your hopes. Join us on this extraordinary adventure of faith. Get involved!

Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission Statement revised in 2013 provides a good look at what we strive to do.

We gather as a liberal religious community to provide a safe haven to celebrate diversity, to foster intellectual, ethical and spiritual growth, and to care for our Earth. We practice our beliefs by serving the larger community in the spirit of justice and compassion.

Our Vision Statement succinctly declares our purpose and aspirations.

Kittitas Valley UU Congregation will be a light in the valley.
